Retractable Screen — Single Door
A screen that vanishes into its housing when you don’t need it — custom-fit to your doorway, installed in one visit. Built on-site at your home, backed by our fit-right guarantee.
The screen you only see when you want it
Some doorways deserve better than a fixed screen panel: French doors, front entries, view-facing sliders. A retractable screen lives rolled up inside a slim housing mounted to the door frame. Pull it across and it seals the opening against insects; let it go and it glides back out of sight, leaving the doorway — and the view — exactly as the architect intended.
We install premium retractable systems with smooth, controlled retraction (no snap-back), custom-measured to your opening and color-matched housings that read as part of the door frame, not an accessory bolted to it.
Where retractables earn their price
High-traffic doorways are where fixed screens die and retractables thrive: nothing to walk into, nothing for the dog to bounce off when the screen is stowed, no panel weathering in the sun 24/7. Because the mesh spends most of its life rolled up, it stays cleaner and lasts longer than an always-exposed screen.
They do have moving parts — an occasional track clean-out and a wipe of the mesh keeps the glide smooth. We walk you through the sixty-second maintenance routine at installation.
What it costs
A single-door retractable screen is $650 installed when booked online ($699 by phone) — measurement, the retractable unit, fitting and adjustment included. Covering a double or French doorway? See the double-door system, or ask us to quote both options at your visit.
